[Madison, WI] — Governor Scott Walker is the education governor. After making historic investments in our classrooms, Scott Walker is taking things a step further and continuing to fight for student success – pushing for Wisconsin to have the highest graduation rate in the country by the end of his next term.
Check out what they’re saying about Governor Walker’s bold vision on education:
From the Cap Times: In the face of 10 Democrats gunning for his job, Republican Gov. Scott Walker has decided to embrace an issue typically owned by the opposing party: education. “I’m being aggressive on this,” Walker said in an interview. “We’re proclaiming proudly that I’m the pro-education governor and that I want to continue to be the pro-education governor.”
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Gov. Scott Walker said he wants Wisconsin high school students to graduate at a rate higher than any other state in the nation by the end of his third term should he be re-elected this fall.
From the Wisconsin State Journal: “I just know there’s a moral imperative for kids to graduate from high school, but there’s also an economic imperative,” Walker said. “As our workforce needs grow we’ve got to get these students ready for the next step in their career.”
From the Washington Times: The spot, set to run statewide as well as on social media, features a public school teacher touting Mr. Walker’s changes to the public school system. “He gave schools flexibility to put money where it matters most, in our classroom. And his latest budget, adds $200 more per year for every student,” says Anita, a teacher in Racine, Wisconsin.
