My favorite part of every week is leaving the alternate universe of Washington, DC and coming back to our great state of Wisconsin.
But while I have been frustrated with the dysfunction in our federal government, our new Republican majority in the Senate gives me hope.
We’re going to show America that Republicans are ready to govern – that we’re ready to work together to tackle the tough problems facing our nation. Just as conservative governance in Wisconsin has turned our state around, our new Republican majority in the Senate will take the lead in putting our nation back on track.
In my role as Chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, I’ll be in a position to highlight problems and propose real solutions. I’ll make sure that the things our federal government SHOULD be doing – like securing our borders – it does well. And I’ll be leading the charge to cut waste, trim regulations, and reduce the size and scope of government so it is more efficient and more accountable to YOU, the taxpayer.
This truly is a fight for freedom – and it is a fight we absolutely must win.
