Feingold will spend the fall lecturing in California
Madison, Wis. – Senator Russ Feingold’s widely covered campaign finance scandal and campaign pledge hypocrisy has taken a major toll on his standing in the latest Marquette University Law Poll. Among Wisconsin voters, Feingold’s favorability rating dropped by 9 points – a trend that is likely to continue as more voters learn about his record.
Senator Feingold’s preference for staged events with hand-picked crowds and refusal to answer tough questions has been noticed. Just a few weeks ago, Feingold delivered his first policy speech of the campaign – and declined to answer any questions about his proposal. Now, even his most fervent liberal media supporters are voicing their frustrations.
“Senator Russ Feingold’s ongoing refusal to engage even his most fervent media supporters speaks volumes about his attitude toward Wisconsin,” said Chris Martin, Communications Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Rather than going back home to spend the fall lecturing in California, Senator Feingold should spend more time laying out his vision to Wisconsin voters.”
