Reckless former Governor and Obama HHS Secretary has long record of failure

[Madison, WI] — You can learn a lot about someone by the company they keep. Today, the failed former Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) & Governor of Kansas Kathleen Sebelius is campaigning on behalf of Tony Evers’ gubernatorial campaign. As HHS Secretary, Sebelius was responsible for the disastrous implementation of Obamacare. As governor of Kansas, the state’s fiscal situation was so bad under Sebelius’ leadership that they had to suspend income tax refunds. Is this the type of leader Tony Evers will be?
“Whether it’s Evers threatening a variety of tax increases or Sebelius’ record running Kansas into the ground, the pair exude the type of failed leadership that should alarm Wisconsinites,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Tony Evers’ policies are dangerous, and the friends he’s bringing in to help support them are just as bad. Evers will take Wisconsin backward with his reckless spending proposals, higher taxes and record of failed leadership.”
Sebelius’ Record of Failure
- While she was governor of Kansas, the state’s fiscal situation was such a mess that they had to suspend income tax refunds.
- When she was the head of HHS, Sebelius oversaw the botched roll out of the Obamacare exchanges and was mired in controversy.
- Sebelius even defended Obama’s Lie of the Year – “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”
- Evers himself failed to lead – making empty promises on the campaign trail and expecting Wisconsin taxpayers to foot the bill with higher property, income and gas taxes.
