Businessman Ron Johnson Understands What it takes to Create Wisconsin Jobs
[Madison, Wis.] – The upcoming Wisconsin Senate race provides a stark contrast on the records and philosophies between the two candidates on creating an environment for sustained job growth. To do that, Washington bureaucrats and politicians like Senator Russ Feingold must get out of the way so Wisconsin job creators can innovate and succeed.
For over 30 years, Ron Johnson ran a Wisconsin business, hired Wisconsin workers, and helped stimulate the local economy. Conversely, Senator Russ Feingold spent his decades in Washington, DC repeatedly working to increase harsh regulations and red tape, which stifled job growth and hurt innovation.
“Ron Johnson is a businessman who knows what it takes to create an environment favorable to job growth,” said Pat Garrett, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Unfortunately, Washington is full of politicians like Russ Feingold who side with government bureaucrats, special interests, and burdensome red tape. This election offers a choice of siding with Wisconsin innovation with Ron Johnson or Washington control with Russ Feingold.”
Politician Russ Feingold sided with Washington bureaucrats over Wisconsin job creators:
- Throughout his time in the Senate, Senator Feingold was rated poorly by the National Federation of Independent Business and National Association of Manufacturers – organizations that represent and defend small businesses across the country.[1]
- Feingold voted to advance a harmful Cap and Trade Bill that would have devastated Wisconsin’s economy: one estimate saying it could have led to the loss of over 70,000 jobs.[2]
- During his nearly two decades in Washington, Senator Feingold did little to nothing to protect Wisconsin jobs.
Ron Johnson is proud to stand up for more good-paying jobs here in Wisconsin:
- In his first year in office, Ron Johnson sponsored legislation to halt new regulations and prevent Washington bureaucrats from doing even more damage to Wisconsin’s small businesses.[3]
- Johnson has worked with both parties, signing onto commonsense legislation limiting needless paperwork and hurdles that hindered innovation.
- Both the NFIB and National Association of Manufacturers rate Johnson highly for his proven record of standing up for Wisconsin jobs.[4]
Wisconsin voters face a choice: a true advocate for small businesses and job growth here in Wisconsin or a Washington insider whose extreme agenda is out of touch with the needs of Wisconsin workers and families. Learn more at www.wisgop.org.
