[Madison, WI] — Hidden tweets from 42nd Assembly District Candidate Ann Groves Lloyd reveal that she embraces socialism – after dodging the question from the Wisconsin State Journal at an editorial board meeting a few weeks prior. Additionally, Lloyd levels vicious personal attacks against Republicans, says she’s against cutting taxes for hard-working families, and aligns herself with Bernie Sanders’ $32 trillion health care plan.

A Democratic Wisconsin Assembly candidate tried to hide old tweets. Here’s why.

Democratic legislative candidate Ann Groves Lloyd won’t let the public see the old, frequent tweets she posted before deciding to run for office.
There’s a good reason for that.
Lloyd, who is running against Republican Jon Plumer, liked to take far-left political stands and make downright nasty comments about conservative politicians in her Twitter feed over the past nine years. The election for the vacant 42nd Assembly seat is Tuesday.
For instance, Lloyd — a Lodi City Council member — called former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney a “douche nozzle.” She liked a tweet that called U.S. Sen. John McCain a “dishonest, bizarrely unhinged, little man.” She retweeted a quote that said former Vice President Dick Cheney”deserves to be treated as a war criminal.”
Lloyd wrote that she wouldn’t wish Gov. Scott Walker “on my worst enemy.” Elsewhere, she tweeted that the second-term Republican governor is “immoral” and “reprehensible.”
Then she liked numerous tweets critical of President Donald Trump.
In those, the GOP president is called an “ignoramus” whose election victory is compared to the rise of Nazi Germany. She retweeted, “We are so (expletive) if (Trump) wins. RT if you agree.”
But her tweets were not limited to personal attacks on Republicans. Lloyd responded favorably to an article by Madison journalist John Nichols on the electoral success of Democratic Socialists of America around the U.S.
“Add me to the list of believers,” Lloyd wrote on Nov. 15, 2017.
She also labeled Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton’splan to raise taxes on the wealthy and hike the minimum wage “an intelligent, thoughtful and FAIR way to grow a state’s economy!” She also liked Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders’ tax plan and single-payer health care.
Lloyd commented on a tweet in which someone, upset over America’s bombing campaign in Syria, suggested that “we are becoming the terrorists.” Lloyd wrote:
“We were once a ‘shining beacon of hope’ for people around the world. Who have we become? #Syria #Humanrights
