Tells donors Wisconsin lost its values
March 26, 2018
[Madison, WI] — If Rebecca Dallet wants to be the next Supreme Court Justice for Wisconsin, she’s not acting like it. Dallet attacked the state last week at a fundraiser in California, saying that Wisconsin had “lost” our values – and that they should be more in line with San Francisco.
Check out news coverage of Dallet’s gaffe below.
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Rebecca Dallet told donors in California this week that San Francisco values are Wisconsin values and spoke of the need to defeat Republicans in 2018, according to leaked audio of the event. “San Francisco, like, this is awesome, the people,” Dallet told the crowd, according to audio circulated by the Wisconsin Republican Party.
From the Associated Press: Wisconsin Republican Party executive director Mark Morgan accused Dallet of trying to “appease far-left donors in San Francisco.” “Wisconsin deserves a Supreme Court Justice who will defend the impartiality of our courts, not a liberal activist judge who will legislate from the bench and pander to the far left,” Morgan said.
From the Dan O’Donnell Show: Forget about her need to recuse herself from State Supreme Court cases should she win; how can Dallet possibly try any criminal case involving anyone even tangentially involved in politics? She has already pre-judged the defendant as being either “on her side” or “on the other side.”
From RightWisconsin: Later, in a story about marrying her husband, Dallet clarified what she meant by San Francisco values. “So we made a choice to move to Wisconsin because it had the progressive values, a lot of things you have here in your city still which we kind of lost,” Dallet said.
