Opposes funding for our military, health insurance for vulnerable children
[Madison, WI] — Senator Tammy Baldwin voted in favor of shutting down the government – threatening to do great harm to our military and health insurance for millions of children through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). In 2013, Baldwin said that shutting down the government hurt Wisconsin families, does she still agree?
“Instead of voting to support our military and to ensure vulnerable children have access to health insurance, Baldwin went along with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi to pick Washington over Wisconsin,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “In her own words from 2013, a shutdown hurts Wisconsin families – this shutdown lies solely at the feet of Baldwin and Washington Democrats.”
