[Madison, WI] — Over the weekend the Republican Party of Wisconsin opened new field offices throughout the state, more than doubling the number of staffed field offices. Led by Scott Walker, grassroots conservatives packed offices in Wausau, Sheboygan, and Racine to rally ahead of the November 2018 election.

Gov. Scott Walker, seeking third term, touts accomplishments in Sheboygan

SHEBOYGAN – Early in his speech here Saturday, Gov. Scott Walker made sure to harp again on a point he’d already made earlier that week.
A Democratic victory a few days earlier in a special election more than a hundred miles away, he said, was a “wake-up call” for Wisconsin’s Republicans.
“It was a wake-up call that we cannot assume — not just there, but here and anywhere else across the state — we cannot assume that our neighbors know about the good and positive things we are doing to make Wisconsin better for the people of this state,”
Walker listed those achievements during a 15-minute speech Saturday afternoon before a crowded room inside the Sheboygan County GOP headquarters, which the party plans to turn into a regional field operations base this year. Audience members were enthusiastic, leading chants of “Love the Gov” as Walker strode in just before noon.
Sam Miller, an 18-year-old local high school student, said he planned to cast his first-ever ballot this year for Walker. He said he had seen some of the governor’s reforms affecting his parents’ pocketbooks, and that he was “100 percent” behind Walker.
“I’d vote for him because he’s lowered the taxes in this state by just a ton over the years that he’s been in office,” Miller said, “and I think that’s an important issue for people in my generation.”
John Tkacz said the recent special election on the other side of the state had a lot to do with why he showed up to Walker’s event Saturday.
