Taxin’ Tom Nelson’s Taxpayer-Funded Hypocrisy
[Madison, Wis.] – Taxin’ Tom Nelson believes in one set of standards for himself and another set of standards for the people he represents. As a legislator, Nelson voted for billions of dollars in higher taxes, all while taking a taxpayer-funded pay raise for himself.
“Tom Nelson voted for higher taxes on just about everything, but when the economy tanked, and the state’s budget became a mess, Nelson took a taxpayer-funded pay raise for himself,” said Pat Garrett, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Now Nelson has to defend his record, and all he can do is run from his record and hope to run out the clock until Election Day.”
Tom Nelson’s Hypocrisy on Taxes Should Worry Hard-working Wisconsinites
- As a state legislator, Tom Nelson voted for over $2 Billion in higher taxes. These taxes affected families of all income levels.
- Nelson voted for higher taxes on just about everything.
- What’s worse, as Nelson voted to raises taxes on hard-working Wisconsinites, he took a taxpayer-funded pay raise for himself.
- Throughout the campaign, Nelson has been too busy dodging local media and even his own constituents as an attempt to run out of the clock until Election Day.
Politicians like Tom Nelson always seem to have a different set of rules for themselves than the rules for everyday people. Unfortunately, that means everyday Wisconsinites pay more, while Taxin’ Tom lines his own pockets. Get the facts at www.therealtomnelson.com.
