Russ Rushes to Distract Voters From His Record

MADISON - Russ Feingold keeps talking, but Wisconsin voters are showing Feingold the same respect he’s shown them. They’ve stopped listening. Feingold is using his campaign office to send out press releases to distract voters from his own record by waving a finger at his opponents, but it’s not lost on Wisconsinites that when his own constituents ask Feingold to listen, he’s nowhere to be found.

“Russ Feingold’s calls for his opponents to answer his questions on policy items sounds like a shrill and broken record when he can’t even be honest about his own,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Russ must think that if he distracts voters with his press release campaign, they’ll forget he’s not listening to their concerns about ObamaCare.”

A recent Wisconsin Policy Research Institute/UW-Madison survey found more Wisconsinites oppose the current health care proposal than support it. Overwhelmingly, Wisconsinites want action to bring down the cost of health care. But when concerned constituents at a recent Feingold town hall listening session tried to share their concerns with the long-time Senator, he demonstrated just how out of touch with reality he is by defending ObamaCare.

“The days of Russ Feingold getting a free pass to say one thing and do another are over,” Jefferson said. “Wisconsin voters are angry that Feingold isn’t listening to them, and no amount of finger pointing from Russ will change that.”
